Install an Aerator

The average bathroom or kitchen sink uses around 2.2 gallons of water per minute, while a WaterSense qualified faucet uses a maximum of 1.5 gallons per minute. However, it might not be in the budget to replace all of the fixtures in your home at once which is what makes aerators so helpful. These devices are incredibly easy to install, you just screw them into the faucet opening, and they have the ability to save you from wasting a lot of water throughout the year.

Replace a Bathroom Faucet

Replacing a bathroom faucet is another easy project that any homeowner should be able to tackle. First, you’ll want to make sure that the new faucet you’ve purchased fits the sink. Make sure that when you’re shopping you keep in mind how many holes your sink currently has (1, 2, or 3) and make a note of how far apart the holes are.

Unclog a Drain

The simplest way to unclog a drain is usually by pouring some chemical drain cleaner down the affected drain and letting it all melt away. However, as we’ve talked about in previous blog posts, the easiest way isn’t always the best way for your plumbing. Instead, the next time your bathroom sink or your bathtub drain is clogged with weeks or months’ worth of hair and other gunk, try using a drain snake to clear the drain. This should work 90% of the time, but if you’re still having no luck clearing the drain, then call a professional.
