Water Not Working Properly? Time To Repipe!

Over time, the piping in someone’s home is going to start to fall apart. This is just a fact of the matter. Eventually, you may need to repipe your home, so this is something you need to take care of before it deteriorates into a larger problem. Of course, you need to know when you need repiping, not to mention you need to know how long it might take and who you need to contact in order to perform the repiping.

How Do I Know It’s Time to Repipe?

There are a few different signs as to whether or not you need your home to be repiped. First off, if you are suffering from inferior water pressure, it is a good sign that you need new pipes. If water comes out of your pipes slow or weak, chances are you need new pipes. A second issue is that if you turn on your water and you see a brown color, chances are you need repiping. While rust can build up if you are away from the house for a long period of time, if this is something you experience on a regular basis (such as every time you take a shower), you probably need new pipes. Lastly, leaking pipes is a big sign of inferior pipes and means you probably need the new pipes.

How Long Will the Job Take?

In terms of length of time, this can vary, depending on the size of your house. However, it is not just a one-day kind of process. Your yard needs to be dug up in order to access the pipes running to the city line, plus you need the pipes inside of your house replaced as well. You can either have the plumber do this all at once, which means you need to leave the house during the repiping process as you will not be able to use any of the plumbing, or you can have it done in sections. Typically, this is going to take a few weeks to do in sections, or it might take less than a week if everything is done at once. Either way, it is not a short fix.

Who Should I Hire?

You want to bring in a regular plumber as this individual is going to be trained in digging up the yard in the right spots and repiping an entire house. They are trained with individual leaks. Due to this, you need to stay on top of the situation and bring in the right professional.
