S&D's Melvin Haddix; None better
Tom - Austin, TX
I specifically requested Melvin for this call because I had previous experience with his very high level of plumbing trouble shooting expertise and his demonstrated ability to communicate well with the customer concerning his analysis of the problem and what his intended fix would be.

William was so awesome! He worked around my schedule to get the job done. It was cold and dark out and he worked diligently to get the problem solved.I was impressed with his knowledge of solving a difficult problem.

Seemed expensive for replacing a water valve for the fridge icemaker. He did replace water spout fixture and didn't charge me for the part, but bill was $200, seemed like a lot. Have used this company multiple times and have always been satisfied with their work and their prices, until now.
Work passed, Bedside manner didn't.
Lyn - Austin, TX
While the work done was done correctly, the staff couldn't get my name right, the appointments were not scheduled easily, or promptly kept, and trying to get a question answered about the work took three calls. The price is very fair, but the hassle is trying. That's why I went middle of the road. If customer service at the office improved, so would my rating. The plumbers were nice and professional.
Rick - Austin, TX
I was charged 200 for them to come out and look at my busted pipe. I had already cut the water off. they told me it would cost 940 to fix it the next week. I called another plumber who came out and fixed it for 250. very disappointed and taken advantage of

S Ramsey - Austin, TX
We had an emergency over the weekend and S&D was there for us. They were incredibly responsive and once the service person arrived they were professional, courteous and knowledgeable. He was able to isolate the issue and fix it within an hour, and even recommended some things we should do to our plumbing system to improve it. I highly recommend S&D Plumbing.
Problem not fixed for big money
Kathy - Austin, TX
My utilities bill showed a massive consumption of water, indicating a major leak....The technician did not repair the known leaking valve that I showed him. He insisted the leak was elsewhere and did approx. $500 worth of work, that was most likely not needed. He did not find a source of the leak, nor did he fix it. And then he left. There was no follow up to come back and find or repair the leak. With the exception of writing down my credit card number incorrectly, and for that, I did receive a call from the billing department. Not a happy customer.
Still waiting after a month.
Shelly - Austin, TX
On December 23 I had a plumber come out and fix our shower. We need to order a part and he assured us he'd call the next week with an update. Three weeks later I called the office, was given the run around and I still haven't heard back a week later. Still can't use our shower. He also "cleared" our disposal, which entailed removing part of a safety pin. The bill was $185!!! Nice guy, but maybe not the best plumber. Interaction with the office staff is even more dismal...
